Golfing, the new single and Labor Day
Well, I just got off the golf course, killing the driver, hitting it close most of the day but stomaching yet another funky and below par putting day and decided to enter another blog. There are a few things going on as of late, as mentioned before we at Ride Records have teamed up with the radio promotion machine of CO5, for the single "You're My Life" cut 3 off of Indianola. H Bud Nelson, Ride's head of media and radio along with CO5 have already received the love from Boston, MA., Hartford, CT, Portsmouth, NH, Portland, ME, and clear across the map Fresno, CA. They have all come in 3 to 4 weeks early so keep it tuned in if you are in the area and email and let 'em know how much we appreciate their support.
On the Management front, big news, after several rounds on the links together and really getting to know each other, Tom Storms of Sanctuary Artist Music Group and former big dog of Atlantic Records, will take on the task of managing all things musical and personal with me. Lord have mercy on him. While Nick Lawson, will handle the technical aspects of Ride and "new ways" that you all know I am into of having my music heard and felt around the globe. Sanctuary has offices in London, LA and now Nashville, where they manage the careers of Elton John, ZZ Top, Slash, Tommy Lee, Fleetwood Mac, Earth Wind And Fire and many more very cool artists. Now, as I tell my booking agent Darin Murphy of CAA, I will be their mutt act (alright alright) enough laughing.
Last but not least, for those of you who will make the East Coast journey with me and the band this long Labor day weekend, we look forward to seeing each of you and travel safely, it will be crazy on the roads as you all know. Jason has polished up his congas (not really) and Mark has greased his slides and I have all my wah wah pedals craving to be stepped on, ever so gently. Where Chris dropped the fairly accurately thrown guitar from me across the concrete stage at The Pier in Baltimore recently I believe that neck has been re-glued (okay the throw was a bit off). There is other news that has transpired in the last few weeks but I'll save it for the next time. My fingertips are ready to go to bed. All the best to each of you and thanks for stopping by.
Be safe until next time, Steve
p.s. I wanna say thanks for all the support Jessie at XM's X Country is giving the record, Indianola is # 22 on their album countdown this week. So if you get the time log onto their site and let her know how much we appreciate it.
